My Scanpan is so old that the coating is both on the outside and inside. Even with metal utensils, it is durable. However, I don't cut anything in the skillets. I will use a fork to lift food out of it. The guarantee is phenomenal. One of my 20 year old pans blistered. I returned it to the company and they sent me a brand new pan. These coated pans are not cheap, but they last, are easy to clean and safe. I bought them when they first came out and were only available at a high end family owned gift and hardware store. I don't think you get the same sear that you get on an all clad copper or Demeyer pan, but it is good enough for us. We own those other lines too. When I am pan broiling or frying a prime rib eye steak, I will probably use my all metal pans or our outdoor gas grill. I think one needs to own more than one type of pan. You can't go wrong with a set of three sizes of the skillets. Most folks will love them. Now they are sold at Sur Le Table. Williams Sonoma could not compete with Scanpan so they developed their own coated nonstick. I haven't tried them, but I don't think they could be more nonstick and durable than my pans. They may now sell Scanpan.

The pots are heavy but nice, quality. The aluminum outside does change color to a golden yellow tint even on the sides (not just the bottom) of the pans/pots as noted on the scanpan website with use, but still looks good. Love the non stick. The sides of the frying pans are shaped more like a pot, more vertical, rather than sloped like other pans. The pot lid handle 'screw's on the inside stick out more than other lids so it catches on things when you're cleaning but manageable. Quality items.

Great experience shopping website and selecting this gift for a loved one that enjoys cooking for friends and family. Arrived packaged very well in a timely manner, only a few days. This cookware is a Chritmas gift although I purchased in summertime. I wanted to take advantage of the 20% discount offered to some customers. I had previously purchased the CTX wok and chef pan set.

Love this set of pots and pans. Very high class in design and also in workmanship. They work beautifully and are easy to clean and nothing sticks. I am very happy that I purchased these great pots and also half off. Still expensive but definetely worthed.
