May 30, 2024I have had my new Samsung A35 for a week now and just love it. I read the many articles about the potential fall-out of the 3G network and decided it was the right time to upgrade my good Oppo phone of 6 years to a modern phone with 5G capability. I am a fan of Android phones given it is so much easier to connect them to my computer and transfer or add files as I need them. I am appreciative of the fact that many Seniors may not be able to purchase high level mobile phones but need current model phones with good accessibility and user-friendly features. The A35 does all of that and more.
I very much like the quality of the camera, and the quality of video play backs of any video's stored in the phone. I liked the option of having the extra storage capacity through an additional micro-sd card which I have now installed and its nice that both the Sim card and the micro-sd cards fit in the one card holder drawer.
I have quickly adjusted to the phone and with GPay I have a very useful tool with me at all times. I can most certainly recommend the A35 to anybody seeking a mid-price range mobile phone and I am very confident that Senior's like me will quickly adapt and also find this mobile phone of real benefit to their day-to-day communication needs. I am confident now of having a reliable, up to date mobile phone which will last me for some years to come. Thank you, Samsung, for bring this phone to your collection.
Decent midranger but

October 23, 2024Bought this as an Open box Geek Squad Certified (it even had the giant sticker on the front). Surprise surprise, the phone came NOT charged. There was ZERO charge on it!
When I plugged it in and eventually turned it on, rather than start up on an Android setup screen, it loaded the Android Recovery screen. This is not acceptable. I am aware this was open box product but it should have been set to load into the Android setup, not recovery. So beware when buying any devices from Geek Squad certified. Can confirm there were no scratches and the phone was exactly like brand new, so there's that. So advice to Best Buy, when selling an Open Box Phone in the future, 1. make sure it is charged, and 2. Make it so it loads into Android setup, NOT recovery.
As for the phone. It's a decent mid range device. It is responsive, there is some lag, but nothing severe where it hurts the user experience. The screen looks good, nice resolution and colours. The rear is plastic and rather slippery, so one will need a case.
There is no notification LED, even when charging so that is a negative. No charger in the box, but that was mentioned. The included cable is a type C to type C, so you will need a type C charger if you wants to use the included cable.
Finally, I am not a fan of Samsung's Android launcher and icons, but not a deal breaker.
This Is Something I'd Actually Recommend to People

July 20, 2024So... Here's my long-term review after using it for a few days now. It looks pretty nice, pretty minimalist design and colors, just wish they used a different design, since this is way too overused, but it does give that S24 look. The display is vibrant, It's nice and choppy and very smooth. The processor is fast for a 300 dollar phone, and mixed with that 8 gigs of RAM, perfect. It is nice for gamers, but not recommended for intense gaming. Cameras are spectacular for the price, no regrets on it. That 50 megapixel camera has great photo and video quality. Same for the selfie camera. The battery is amazing, I always manage to end the day without having to charge my phone. Buuuutttt....... One bad thing about it is how slowwwwww it charges, at this price point, you'd be expecting to get maybe like 50 or 60 watts, but nope, you get 25... But, aside from that, I recommend it to people who want a nice looking, minimalist phone, who also intend to use it for some medium-powered tasks and whatnot, who also don't care about charging speeds and all that fancy stuff. Overall, pretty great phone.

August 27, 2024I have always own a Samsung phone! Never tried anything else always Samsung. I have always like the quality of the phone and the reliability of the Samsung product. I also have a 52 inch Samsung flat TV in my bedroom that i have had for 10 years! It has the most beautiful picture on it! However, i just had to put that in there! Ooo i also have the Samsung washer and dryer (smart) 3yrs old.. My resent phone the A35 I love it! i am still learning the AI stuff it is quite interesting and challanging . I still have alot to learn about this phone because so much has changed since i had a upgrade. This phone replaced tthe A51! You cannot go wrong when purching a Samsung phone. No matter where i am i can make and receive calls thats what i most like about the Samsung products! Short story, my dad had Demintia and also wore hearing aids. About the 4th stage he could no longer hear on the landline. His sisters and brothers had not talked to him in months until i moved back home to help mom take care of dad. It was the A51 and a setting for hearing that it has i put it on! oh what joy on his face when he could hear the different siblings on the phone. You could only imagine the huge smile on their faces to hear their brothers voice and to hold a conversation with him at stage 4. It was Samsung and the setting option that was provided on the phone. From that day on dad would keep my phone in his top left hand pocket with the gospel music playing..long battery span...love it! R.I.H.
