February 18, 2018Bed and breakfast owner Natalie Barnes finds the dead body of her part time employee in a cranberry bog. While the police rule it a suicide, Natalie doesn't think so. Meanwhile, her ex-fiancee has come to try to win her back. I love these characters and the plot was good. My only complaint is that one possible motive for the murder was almost exactly the same as in the first in the series. And since this is second in the series, that is disappointing.
GLAD TO COME BACK TO THIS COZY MAINE ISLAND...

July 3, 2010I bought this paperback because I kept picturing the first in the series in my mind, MURDER ON THE ROCKS, and realized I wanted to go back to Cranberry Island. I just plain like the main character Natalie Barnes who owns a B & B and is just barely getting by on this small island. She cooks a lavish breakfast every morning and I feel like I'm standing right beside her having coffee while she does it.....a tiny bit of love interest, she travels everywhere on a bicycle and there's rugged terrain all around and of course lots of interesting minor characters live on the island. I'll be soon looking for the 3rd in the series.....
