Not Authentic Dossier Perfume!
Ashley· Review provided by walmart.com · December 28, 2024
Firstly, the item received does not resemble a Dossier perfume and does not match the expected scent profile. The packaging was not adequate, as the perfume was shipped in a standard bag without any protective box, which raises concerns about handling during transit. Additionally, the Dossier perfume was not delivered in the usual branded packaging; instead, it arrived in a plain, flimsy cream box. I also noticed that one of the boxes had its top completely detached.

Additionally, the label on the perfume does not match the official Ambery Saffron Dossier label and appears to be altered (picture of authentic Fruity Magnolia Dossier perfume next to the altered). The font is larger than typically seen on genuine Dossier products, as well as the bottle size. I frequently order and use this particular scent as my signature fragrance, so I can confidently state that the sour floral aroma is not the expected Ambery Saffron scent.

It is disappointing to see that Walmart partners with suppliers who do not deliver the correct products and raise concerns about product authenticity.

before i bought ambery saffron, i read all the reviews and watched all the YouTube videos to get a sense of what the perfume actually smells like. i don't know what saffron smells like and i couldn't imagine how the different notes would work together. when i finally smelled it, it was ambiguous and hard to pinpoint. at first i didn't really smell anything at all but alcohol. the next time i smelled a sweet vanilla note even tho vanilla isn't listed. as I'm smelling it now, i would say it's sweet, spicy, clean and floral... but not in typical ways you might think when hearing these descriptions. it's clean but not in an ocean or laundry way. spicy in that it has a punch to it but not in an oriental heavy spicy way. floral in a light clean pure soft flower not a hit you in the face white flower based perfume. at first i didn't like this perfume and wanted to return it because it's the most expensive option from dossier but now i think it's probably one of the only ones id keep because it's totally unique to me. I've never smelled baccarat rouge so i can't say if it smells similar but i can say that I've never encountered a perfume that hit me in the nose like this one. I'm also layering it with fruity honey and floral pear and they both compliment this fragrance well. if you're hesitant, give this a try because you can always return it and it's far less expensive than baccarat rouge.
Ordered Replacement Bottle, Scent Not As Strong :(
Taylor A.· Review provided by dossier.co · June 13, 2024
The first time I ordered this perfume, I absolutely loved it! It smelled amazing, it stayed strong all day, and I'd get so many compliments! My coworkers who would rave about it would say they could still smell me end of the day even tho I put it on once >7 hours ago! (I will say tho they did have abnormally sensitive noses lol)
Once I ran out I placed a second order for a replacement bottle, and although the scent smells the same, unfortunately it's not nearly as strong and the staying power is almost non-existent. It'll smell for a few minutes, then quickly fade. I've changed nothing about how I apply the perfume, nor how much, all I did was just get a new bottle. I even asked the coworkers who used to rave about if if they could smell me (I know, weird question) and they said they couldn't smell anything at all.
I'm very disappointed that the either the quality declined as the scent has gotten more popular (diluting it??), or if their quality control is just that bad to where there would be such a drastic difference between lots/batches.
Due to this I returned the bottle, and I'm going to try to order it one more time to see if I get a good batch/lot (I love it so much), but if the smell is once again super light and doesn't stay I guess I'll have to find a new go-to scent :(
Finally!! Someone cloned BR540!!

I have been obsessed with BR540 for a very long time. I own the original and use it daily. However bc of the high price point I've been looking for dupe FOREVER. I have tried them ALL. Alt, sweven, oil perfumery, Juliana's etc as well as non dupe perfumes that are said to smell like it. (Ie cloud etc) NOTHING is right...they're always missing something. So I didn't have huge expectations. I got my ambery saffron SUPER quick and when I opened it and sprayed for the first time...it was like angels sang lol this is for sure the closest anyone has come to duplicating this complicated scent. It is so close I can barely tell the difference and no one else has been able to yet. So far the big difference is sillage and longevity. While dossier does last a long time and has semi good sillage it doesn't last as long as the original which is too be expected I mean come on- this is only 50 bucks a bottle. This is honestly the closest anyone has ever come to getting it right. Now BR540 extrait- I wish they would make it. But they don't unfortunately so that award goes to Julianna's aurora extrait-. But dossier- THANK YOU.
ALSO- Just a quick note. For those with anosmia that can't smell br540 or CAN smell it but the ability disappears after a few min- my sister and her husband both have anosmia and cannot smell br540 more than a few min before they can't anymore. Neither seem to have that issue with the ambery saffron from dossier. My sister is the one that found this perfume originally and they can both enjoy it for hours.
