Elliot is so straightforward throughout the entire book & I absolutely LOVED it. You always knew where he stood & I think that helped Macy in a lot of ways! There was no beating around the bush with him! When they finally had the hard conversation about what happened NYE night 11 years ago...I felt like my heart was just ripped outta my chest & stomped on! Oofta! Their story has such an elegant simplicity to it, alternating between past & present, it isn't flashy, it doesn't use gimmicks to beg for your attention. It's simply a story about a boy & a girl who start off as friends & grew to love each other. It's a story to be cherished, & it will definitely stay with me for a long time.

I read the book. All 400 pages. It had me in the beginning but I felt like it dragged on. I liked how they developed their relationship and friendship but I feel like they were together for about 15 pages total in the book. It had good parts, and it was an okay read. I liked that it was set near my home that’s for sure. Not sure what else to say, I really loved Macy but I just couldn’t connect with Elliot I felt like he was too perfect and then he wasn’t. It’s hard to explain. I have mixed feelings about the book :/ 3.75/5

this book is simply beautiful as well as heartbreaking. it follows the intense journey of protagonist Macy, who has to come to terms with her past when she (in a sense) reunites with her first love Elliot.

Personally, I absolutely love second chance romance, as it portrays the raw emotion the characters feel towards each other so clearly, and in such a tear-jerker way. I cried through every second of this book, and I still get a little sad when I think about this book. It's almost astonishing, how much power this book holds in order to make a reader feel so intensely about the story. bottom line, loved every second of this book.
