May 26, 2024I cannot even begin to explain my love for this book and its series as a whole. There is only one other book series that I have connected so deeply with and that was A Count Of Thorns And Roses. Xaden and Violet's love story will go down in history as one of my favorite romances ever written. But this book was so much more than that. Specifically during Fourth Wing, you get to learn about how Violet overcomes her many challenges in life. But during Iron Flame, you get to watch her grow into a warrior that so many people in her life swore she would never be. She overcomes all odds and barriers all while also having to take care of herself and pretty much everyone else. She reminds me so much of myself, her strength and persistence have really resonated deep within me. And because of this, I actually got a tattoo from this book. So that just like Violet, I will never forget that "I am the storm. I am infinite".
Great read !

January 21, 2024This book blew me away! I usually do NOT start an unfinished series and yet here we are...So Rebecca Yarros, if you are reading this please finish the series! I will honestly say, that I started my year with a book series that I don't know if anything will be better than this. The plot is amazing! I can't say much without spoiling it, so just read it. I know some people complained about the Violet and Xaden's love story taking over. To me, it added to the tension of this book. 💕💕💕The character and world development is great. I personally believe that Violet grew in this book. She matured so much, as did her circle of people. My favorite part of this story was the revelation of Andarna in this book. I love her as a dragon. I love the dragons! I didn't know I would like dragons so much in a story, but I do.
The spice is a 2.5 or even a three for me. The scenes or smutty and extra spicy between Xiolet! The emotional damage is real and the ending is shocking. It's a bit of a cliffhanger, I personally believe. Others may not believe this. Overall, I would read this again and I definitely recommend it!
Yes yes yes!

November 26, 2023Welp, the second book in the series did NOT DISAPPOINT! There won't be any spoilers in this review, so don't worry! I'm absolutely LOVING this series, I pre-ordered this one before I was even finished with the 1st. Waiting patiently for it to come out, unsure of how it could even come close to Fourth Wing-but man oh man! And now I hear it'll be a while before the next book is released...so I'll just be sitting here chomping at the bit in the meantime! I was literally on the edge of my seat the entire time! Violet & Xadan man, I just can't get enough of them!! Violet is now officially a second year cadet at Basgiath War College, even though everyone assumed she would die in her first year. Not only has she survived, she is now considered one of the best riders thanks in part to her dragons, Tairn & Andarna. Now, not only does she have to survive training, but new enemies & challenges are presented everyday. Xaden is now on the front lines & their enemies are constantly conspiring to keep them apart. With secret knowledge she can't share, Violet will have to continue to draw on her inner strength & wits to survive. I am not going to spoil this book, I promise. Just know that it is amazing, & in true Rebecca Yarros fashion, the ending makes me even more eager for the next book. Violet continues to be one of my favorite characters ever! She's flawed, strong, caring, stands up for what she believes in, & FEISTY. Xaden becomes more & more open as a character; we learn more about his inner thoughts than we have before. If you haven't read Fourth Wing- do it!! Never thought I'd ever be interested in reading anything like this, but her writing is above & beyond- feeling like the movie is literally playing out in front of me!

October 13, 2024Came in a cheap plastic sleeve mailing packaging that had holes in it on both front and back (front is pictured). Was not protected at all. Was also put in my mailbox 😏 which I guess wasn’t the fault of the seller but I did specify to Walmart to put in front of my garage. Marked on as well per attached image. Was not sprayed edges as picture advertises, was normal white. Under the jacket has some damage on the spine and regardless of if due to being in mailbox or because seller did not properly package (think it’s a bit of both) the sides are bent as well as shown in pictures. Probably would just buy elsewhere to be honest if I knew it wouldn’t be as damaged. Not surprised on it not being sprayed edges as you get what you pay for….but still. Please remove that picture as that is false advertising.
