As a POTS & hEDS

December 27, 2024As a POTS & hEDS patient constantly suffering and trying hard to get more electrolytes, I was a diehard LMNT fan. I have easily spent over an thousand dollars already between subscription insider packets and multiple shipments of your carbonated drinks, and I previously recommended it to my fellow EDS & POTS friends and all my followers, but I am very disappointed to learn that there are multiple inferior quality ingredients in what would otherwise be a great product. Using low quality table salt and hidden LARGE amounts of maltodextrin when you are pretending to be all natural with zero sugar is NOT okay, especially for those of us with MCAS and corn ingredient allergies. For the price I expect only the best ingredients, and despite your extensive deceptive advertising saying otherwise, this sadly is not the case. As a type 3 diabetic after cancer I have been having 20p oint blood sugar spikes regularly and didn’t understand why or how as to my knowledge I wasn’t having any sugar. It was absolutely the higher glycemic load of the maltodextrin in the LMNT combined with my MCAS reacting to it. You go on and on about your testing and yet it means nothing if there’s no quality behind it. Poisoning all of us with corn allergies and diabetes that rely on LMNT for our daily dose of electrolytes is unethical and extremely dodgy. Please reformulate your product NOW to use quality sea salt or pink Himalayan salt and NO maltodextrin and disclose EVERYTHING! When you do, I’ll be back and will happily change my review.
Having been dx with Ehler-Danlos

October 1, 2024Having been dx with Ehler-Danlos with an accompanying dx of a Rare Disease called CVID (low IgG & no IgM), the LMNT salts are now a diet staple. I stick to the Orange salt because the other selections I’ve tasted just were not my palette’s preference. I start early in the morning with one packet in 24oz of cold water in my hydroflask. I may use a second packet if I’m feeling any muscle or tendon tightness causing an uncomfortable shift in my joints that could lead to hyperextension. I’ve noticed that I’m experiencing less nausea in the mornings if I get my first packet down right after breakfast. If I forget or get busy, the nausea kicks in reminding me to drink my salts. If I’m super energetic and engaged in heavy exercise leaving me sweaty & thirsty, I’ll use a second packet and can immediately tell a difference in my body. I typically drink water all day long and having the salts right at the start of my day I’ve seen improvement in my body, my attitude, my energy, and my overall wellbeing. Yes, I’ve tried numerous other brands and LMNT is the only tolerable mix on the market for me. Stevia typically bothers me but the amount in LMNT is negligible and leaves no bitter aftertaste or stomach digestion distress. I have recommended LMNT to others and have enjoyed their responses and giving feedback as positive as my own experience. Thank you LMNT! You’ve made life much more bearable in the desert Southwest where Extreme Heat isn’t ending and climate change is making life much more difficult to enjoy.
Stevia-free hydration

December 9, 2024Ok so it's no secret that LMNT puts a f***load of stevia in every flavor, which makes it inappropriate for a lot of chronically ill people because large amounts of stevia give a ton of people digestive issues like bloating and severe diarrhea. It also makes their drink mix taste really strange.
This is the only product LMNT carries that doesn't have an absurd amount of stevia in it. One of these packets can be mixed with your drink mix of choice to make a gut-friendly electrolyte beverage that actually ends up tasting WAY better than any flavour that LMNT offers. I used berry-grape Mio with a little lemon juice.
I really wish LMNT would listen to their chronically ill customers and actually make flavored products and canned drinks that are appropriate for chronically ill people if they're going to market to us, but I doubt they'll ever do that so this will work untill I find a different brand. It's a shame because I've yet to find another electrolyte beverage that actually has enough salt to mitigate my POTs symptoms.
Glad they have a plain one, LMNT products are the only ones I've found that actually have enough salt to mitigate my POTs symptoms. I still wish there were more flavours that are actually appropriate for people with sensitive GI tracts. A lot of people are sensitive to stevia and finding hydration options that aren't full of it is almost impossible
My rheumatologist recommended that I

September 29, 2024My rheumatologist recommended that I start drinking water with electrolytes and coincidentally, LMNT ran across my webpage while online shopping. Because of my autoimne condition, I drink a lot of water and it was causing my blood to lose the necessary salts needed for my body. I read the information and decided to choose the chocolate salt for my daily coffee. I make my daily coffee using coffee from a local coffee roaster, coconut milk, collagen powder, and stevia. I thought that a touch of chocolate salt might also smooth out the coffee. I love It!! I don't use the entire packet but about 1/4th packet with my daily coffee. I also purchased the melon salt which I also love and enjoy it in the water I am constantly drinking; I use one packet daily spreading it out over the numerous glasses of water I drink daily.
The 4-rating is for the price when not choosing to purchase the 3-flavor option. The 30 pack lasts me about 3-4 months. As such, I wanted to try another chocolate flavor and selected the chocolate caramel which smells and tastes more like butterscotch which is okay and I'm using it in my coffee. With the next purchase I'll most likely go back to the chocolate salt.
I forgot to mention that my first purchase included a 2nd multipack option which gave me a variety of flavors to sample. It did not include all of the chocolate flavors, however. I am happy with LMNT and will continue purchasing. I'm just not a "frequent flyer."
