After dabbling into unicorn beauty products with chromatic polishes and giving us the most luxe lipsticks we'd ever laid eyes (or lips) on, we'll soon have the new Christian Louboutin Eye Collection to drool over. Let's start with this anecdote: When we first saw the new mascaras, brow pencils, and liners in their black-and-gold packaging, we were almost too scared to touch them. And then, we were so happy we did. The formulas live up to every little penny of red-bottomed hype.
Firstly, Allure editors are obsessed with the upcoming colored liners. In true Christian Louboutin fashion, a red Rouge Louboutin liquid liner is on its way. The idea of rimming your eyes with the crimson Oeil Vinyle Luminous Ink Liner ($75) might sound like an albino rat look waiting to happen, but we swear it's gorgeous, wearable, and flattering. (Also, burgundy shadow is having a moment, and that's just the softer, sootier sister of sharp crimson liner.) The blue-based shade brings out warm tones in brown and green eyes and sharpens the coolness of blue ones. If you're not ready to give scarlet a spin, there's also a black and a deep teal option. They don't have the same red-and-black inkwells, though.
In addition to sleek liquid liners, Louboutin is launching pencils, too. We're all about yellow eye makeup for spring, and Christian Louboutin just gave us (and you) another reason to try the trend. One of the five Oeil Velour Velvet Eye Definer shades ($40) is a brilliant chartreuse, Hot Chick. We like to etch our lower lashlines for an unexpected zing of brightness. Of course, there's more standard hues, too, like warm brown, pitch black, shimmery plum, and deep teal. Once you draw them onto your lids, the smooth-but-intense pigments won't budge for anything. Go to yoga, then dance all night, and the next morning, you'll wake up with the perfectly smudged Kate Moss liner leftovers of your grandest '90s dreams.
Above, you'll see the some Brow Definers ($40) mixed in with the Oeil Velours. The easy-to-use sticks come with a long-lasting but completely natural-looking pencil on one end. The other end houses a spoolie for brushing in the product and arranging your arches.
Last but not least, there's a mascara. The Les Yeux Noirs Lash Amplifying Lacquer Mascara ($70) comes in the blackest patent black you'll ever find and a rich burgundy, Sevillana. The brush has teeny tiny silicone bristles that look unassuming, but make lashes impossibly huge. We were shocked when we instantly noticed our lashes become curled, lifted, and volumized with just one swipe. And just look at the tube. How are you resisting that, again?
