True inclusivity has become more talked about in the mainstream market than ever before, with launches like Fenty Beauty paving the way for what we expect — and deserve — to see when a new foundation or concealer range arrives. Recently, glam guru Jeffree Star decided to Tweet about that very topic as he announced plans for his concealer range. "I'm working on concealers right now and there's over 30 shades so far!" he posted. He then proceeded to call out other brands that he feels are falling short of the mark. "Moral of the story, if any cosmetics brands ar reading this: before you launch a foundation line, make sure it is inclusive or don’t [...] bother," he added.

Those Tweets instantly began stirring up controversy, as social media users attacked him for supporting ranges that don't carry a wide range of shades. Jeffree replied to these accusaions with an unexpected claim. "I'm actually working with Dior to expand their Air Flash shade range in the spring which isn't announced yet but since you wanna try me,” he Tweeted. That wasn't all he had to say, of course. “I’m helping solve the problem. What are you doing?” he added.

As Allure noted, Dior is not a beauty brand with a history of asking influencers for input on existing collections. Their products are currently overseen by creative director Peter Philips, so it seems like a rare move for the company. Of course, as Jeffree said, nothing has been announced yet, so the collab hasn't been confirmed beyond his controversial Tweet.

While Jeffree's fans are applauding him for creating a wide range of concealer shades, some have also noted that his comments about inclusivity are not without their problematic undertones, as he has received backlash for offensive comments and campaigns in the past. Plus, it's about time everyone in the makeup industry followed suit when it comes to creating makeup that caters to all of their customers' skin tones, and not just a small fraction of them.
