Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley is due to undergo routine medical tests over the coming weeks.

A brief advisory from the Office of the Prime Minister indicated that Dr Rowley would remain in California, USA, for routine doctor’s visits after leading a delegation to the IX Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles.

Among the Prime Minister’s scheduled tests are cardiac and prostate analysis.

The Prime Minister has routine medical visits with his medical practitioners in the US annually, and has in the past advocated for men to have regular check-ups to know the status of their prostate health.

Last January, Dr Rowley went to the West Shore Medical Hospital after experiencing some discomfort. He spent two nights at the facility, where he underwent two heart procedures.

Following this hospital visit, the Prime Minister had a routine check-up at the private hospital in May.

Finance Minister, Colm Imbert, will continue to act as Prime Minister until Dr Rowley's return after his latest round of medical tests.
